Just wanted to express my thanks to the site for the great information held. My grandfather was born at 8 New Street Sion Mills in 1911. I was thrilled to see a picture in the gallery of New Street and the famous mill where my great grandfather was employed. My grtandfather, Olphert ( Alfie) Bustard, moved with his parents Robert James Bustard( born in Stranolar in 1878), and Elizabeth Loughlin and siblings Anna Eveline and Ethel Mildred Isabel Bustard, to Coatbridge in Scotland around 1916. Sadly his 2 brothers, Andrew and Robert died in infancy while the family still lived in their native Ireland. Once again thanks for the great information your site has given me.

Delighted to be of service! Olphert is a fairly unusual name, though I know there are Olpherts living between Strabane and Derry. But, interestingly, the Church of Ireland rector of Sion about the time your grandfather was born, if I am not mistaken, was Canon Olphert.
